The A.O.Väisänen Symposium has taken a special place in the cultural environment around the village of Savonranta in Finland.
The personality of Mr Armas Otto Väisänen, a musician and a scientist in all fields related to folk-music in Europe, is the source of this event which is organised to honour his achievements and to further develop finnish folk music and culture.
The event that has taken place since 2004 consists of concerts, open discussions and seminaires.
